As vehicle owners and drivers, we should know that our car tyres are one of the most essential components of our cars especially when it comes to safety and performance. As we already know, car tyres are our only point of contact with the road’s surface and so we should make sure that our car tyres perform well to maintain safe contact with the road.

It’s not that easy to decide which car tyres to buy however especially when we are financially strapped. We wanted to buy branded and high-quality care tyres of course but we can’t afford to get expensive all the time. And so sometimes we find ourselves looking into the option of buying cheap car tyres. We would definitely want to get our hands on a Goodyear, or a Michelin, or a Bridgestone or a Dunlop, or many other expensive brands, but in times when we cannot, we just settle into cheap car tyres.

But remember, being cheap doesn’t always mean being shoddy or substandard or inferior. Being cheap could also mean being high-quality, high performance, or even branded at a lower cost or cheaper price. Yes, this type of cheap car tyres does exist and you can find them online if you have the patience and the diligence to find them and explore the world wide web for them. These cheap car tyres are often offered by online tyre retailers as part of their web promotions, discounts and sales and so they don’t really stay the whole year round.

Thus, it is important to have a regular “presence” online to make sure you don’t miss cost-efficient offers online. You can be on top of the game by making sure you are getting mailed when promotions come up; you can subscribe on the retailer’s mailing list for this.

Don’t jump on to the opportunity to get cheap on expensive brands though. There are still other things to consider beyond your pocket’s ability. Make sure that you know the manufacture date of the cheap tyres that you are buying since that will tell you the tyre’s life span as well. The car tyres’ braking ability, tread patterns and noise are also important factors to consider so make sure that you’ve read (reviews, tests) about the tyres first before purchasing them.

One very important thing to consider as well is our driving style, the type of terrain where we will be using the tyres, the weather condition and the daily average load that the tyre will have to carry. You see, even if you buy expensive car tyres yet tend to be abusive about your driving you are still bound to get unsafe on the road. But if you are a calm and responsible driver, you can still ensure your safety even when using cheap car tyres.

We all know how technology seems to change everything around us. This is very evident on how internet has changed the buying preferences of many consumers nowadays. In the past, we only have the option of buying from local stores for everything that we needed. Gone are those days now, anybody can just go online and buy everything from the comfort of his home – from apparels to jewellery, even down to car parts and accessories such as car tyres and/or windshield wiper blades.

Speaking of wiper blades, I went online to look for different buying options for me that the internet has got to offer. I realize most online retailers offer the most basic option such as the generic or regular wiper blades. Most of these brands work great for the maximum period that the manufacturer recommends – mostly for a year or so – which is actually the standard lifespan of wiper blades today. I ended up looking for a higher option. After my not so good experiences with the basic wiper blades, I think it’s high time to spend extra dollars on something that is considered as one of every vehicle’s safety features.

Shopping online has always been quick and easy. It is so convenient. The ability to make your fingertips do the shopping for you is actually a cool prospect. You have lots of choice as well beyond the most basic options. Some online retailers offer high quality set of wiper blades – some of which using high technology such as triple edge and/or silicone and many more. These are the types of options that would allow you to save money every year as you won’t have to purchase a replacement annually. Some brands even promise a lifetime warranty for your wiper blades which is a great value for any consumer.

I took some time shopping online. My time is not limited and I’m just sitting in my couch anyways so I’m more or less relaxed. I ended up buying a new set of silicone windshield wiper blades. I thought it’s worth giving it a try since it offers more than just simple wiping capacity. The advantages over the most basic wiper blades are enumerable and so it’s worth spending almost $10 dollars more for it. The lifetime warranty on the product is great as well. It pays to know that the manufacturer is confident that the product could last that long. I do think that these internet options work really well for me.

My friends who asked me why I have been raving and rambling about electronic cigarettes for so many months now have stopped shooting their questions when they saw me again in our quarterly get together last week. I guess it is obvious in my appearance that electronic cigarettes did work for me. Thus, when I started talking about e-cigarettes again, nobody contradicted. With their “forgotten” cigarettes on the ash trays, they listened attentively to every word that I said.

So yeah, I was raving about it again but this time I’m sure everybody’s all ears. I know there are detractors in the group but they didn’t dare run me down anyways. They knew I have something to show for it and they cannot go against the screaming evidence. On the other hand, they have been laughing and bickering about me and my switch to electronic cigarettes for months now but until now they cannot show concrete evidence of their claims that vaping is bad to health as well; they’ve never even tried it.

I told them the so many reasons why electronic cigarettes are becoming more and more popular each day. First, it actually offers some kind of relief to tobacco cigarette smokers. The truth is, many of these smokers wanted to quit but they are just too dependent to nicotine that they found it hard to do so. Electronic cigarettes however helped them slow down on their addiction because it allowed them to regulate their nicotine intake and even quit their bad habit altogether.

Second, who wouldn’t want to continue smoking without smelling like one? I mean, been there, done that. Was I glad to be able to breathe completely inside my own house for once. I don’t smell the stale tobacco in my own mouth, I don’t smell them in my clothes, not even on my furniture! It seems like I am a totally different person. I like the fact that I don’t have to deal with cigarette butts anymore. It totally rocks!

Third, I can vape practically anywhere. Nobody would dare argue about me emitting second-hand smoke because I’m not. I think this is the best reason why smokers should switch to electronic cigarettes. Doing so would definitely make them a more responsible individual – to other people, to the environment, and to themselves. The fact that you are not emitting hazardous and toxic second hand smoke anymore makes you somewhat like a health-advocate, caring for those who surrounds you; it makes you feel like a better person.

I guess it’s not a surprising why I rave about electronic cigarettes whenever I get the chance.

My friend Jenna is one of the best examples of e-cigarette protesters and whiners that we have in our society today. As much as I love my friend, I am really getting sick listening to her whine against e-cigarettes and it bad effects. She’s closed to any explanation (whoever is brave enough to give her one) that vaping has got more positive effects than smoking so if there’s something that should be banned, it should be tobacco cigarettes and not electronic cigarettes.

She however doesn’t really disagree to the idea of banning both products as she never really liked smoking though she did try it once in her life. What she wanted to happen now however is that e-cigarette manufacturers and health advocates and organizations get together and fund further testing and studies on the alleged positive effects and benefits of electronic cigarettes.

She further commented that if these e-cigarette manufacturers are really confident about their products, they would be the first to do a massive and publicized testing of its efficacy. How they go about it is up to them too as long as they show the public and the many protesting politicians that: 1. Electronic cigarettes don’t contain carcinogens and more than 4000 toxins that can be found in tobacco cigarettes, 2. There is no health hazard and side effects to vaping, 3. They are not encouraging kids to use electronic cigarettes at an early age, and 4. Electronic cigarettes are no doubt the best way to quit smoking tobacco cigarettes and stop nicotine addiction.

I told my friend there must be some uncontrollable factors that are stopping e-cigarette manufacturers from carrying on such test. For instance, the Food and Drug Administration of the United States of America wouldn’t agree or consent further testing and studies to and for electronic cigarettes and until they do so, e-cigarettes manufacturers can really do nothing about a test. And so they cannot provide any conclusive evidence that electronic cigarettes are manufactured for the betterment of the smoking society

My friend thought about it for a while and finally concurred with my argument. She said these politicians and so-called health advocates should just stop yapping about it and start doing something about it like get an approval for a formal testing and study. My friend even confessed that she’s truly tired of her own whingeing as well (at least she knows herself, huh). It’s actually a matter of acting on the issue and not whining about it.

It’s the time of the year again when I need to do something big for my car – time to replace my car tyres. This is especially big for me this year because I am very tight on budget. You know what they say about “when it rains it pours”? It’s happening with me right now. Problems after problems came that I found myself in a financial strain. And if that is not enough, I checked my car tyres yesterday and found obvious traces of wear and tear that might be dangerous on the road. Sigh. I wonder where I can find cheap tyres that are not cheap on the performance level as well.

One of my automobile enthusiast friends suggested that I go online to find high quality yet cheap tyres on sale. I visited several websites online to see how it would help me with my predicament. All of the websites that I went through seem to say the same thing: that they offer convenient online shopping on top of the high quality tyres at a very low cost. Now I’ve solved my problem in finding cheap tyres but it actually resulted to another problem: which of these websites are telling me the truth? Which tyre retailer is really selling high quality tyres at a lower cost?

I have to admit I have a favourite website amongst all the sites that I visited. This one looks like the real thing. For one, its extensive list doesn’t only include cheap tyres but also high quality branded tyres that are discounted or offered at a lower price due to a specific sale event. This retailer also has its list of fitting center agents that are scattered all throughout the country to ensure that there’s a fitting agent in every location. This actually sounds great for me. I can’t afford high class street tyre fitters which is why I would rather change the car tyres myself even if it means some kind of hard work for me. But if this retailer can offer a fitter for me at a reasonable cost, why not get this service, right?

I think I’ll go for this retailer. It’s got a very impressive stock of different brands, even budget brands from Michelin, Bridgestone, Dunlop, Toyo, and so much more. I’m sure I’ll find my high quality cheap tyre here as well as the fitting accessories and services such as valves, wheel balance and disposal. Not bad, not bad at all!

Of course I want to enlist myself! Wit body like mine, who wouldn’t want to enter a weight loss contest that is sponsored and funded by a known hospital and a daily newspaper? This is a team up of a medical facility and an information carrier after all and so it means the weight loss endeavours will be healthy and smart.

The contest will last for four months which is to my standards, fast enough. Meaning, the contestants will have to lose weight fast by utilizing only the safest and the healthiest methods available. Now that’s my kind of game! Sad that I was too late for the registration, I seriously wanted to join the contest. Why? I’ll give you three simple reasons.

First, I am fat. Okay, that’s an understatement, I am very fat. I have been fat all my life. Nah, that’s an exaggeration. I have been fat for like five years now and I have been ridiculed, humiliated, and frustrated for all those years. But I actually have no one to blame but myself, I brought the shame to myself. I have tried to shed off pounds to no avail. Maybe a competition would allow me to lose weight fast. And this is not just an ordinary competition! It is a healthy one with the backing of a medical institution so it won’t be dangerous for my health at all.

Second, just like any contest, this comes with awards and prizes. As if losing weight is not award enough. It’s already a prize for me. But there’s more! Monetary prizes will be given to those who have lost the highest percentage of weight within the four month period. I’m definitely in! It’s actually a win-win situation here because even if I don’t win the monetary prizes, I sure will win a new me – a new eating habit, a healthier me, a leaner me.

Third, my efforts will be chronicled and publicized! It’s not what you think. I never really aim to become a big star or be famous just because I lost weight fast. Let’s just say, it is my way of getting back, to let those who ridiculed me in the past know that I am not a doormat that they can just stand on anytime. I have feelings too and I can act on my situation as well. Seeing me in the newspaper would help me get my message across fast and effectively.

But then again, I already lost my chance to enter the contest, too late for me. I guess I will have to do it myself. It’ll be hard but I guess I can find other ways to motivate myself to do it. Sigh, I do wish there’s a lot easier way to do it, I sure wanted to lose weight fast.

I got duped again. Sad to admit but I fell for it; I should have known it wouldn’t really work for me. I bet you know what I am talking about. Have you seen those diet ads by different Hollywood actresses and models like Jane Fonda, Christie Brinkley and many more? Well, I’m not talking about the same exact people here but I admit I got duped by a Hollywood celebrity who made public her weight loss program and I thought it will work with me as well.

I don’t want to make excuses but I fell for it because I’ve seen that celebrity before and she was really big. After seeing her lose about 30 pounds I felt like somebody who wants to embrace a new religion – her diet religion. And so I listened to her diet doctrines with hopeful eyes believing it will work for me as well. Aggh! I should have known it was too good and too easy to be true.

It was obvious but I have chosen to close my eyes on the fact that the celebrity has no nutritional or medical training at all. She may have sounded genuine or even knowledgeable about food and nutrition but she sounded more like a good sales pitch. Too bad I realized that too late.

Now I am suffering from all the side effects of my chosen diet plan – diarrhea, stomach pains, not to mention I feel so weak and lethargic all this just to lose weight fast. Worse, after going back to my normal diet, I am gaining back the old fats again that I thought won’t come back. But what makes it more unbearable is the fact that my family and friends are talking about my misfortune every time, making an example out of me, thinking I don’t mind at all.

Yes. I guess I’m back to square one. I can’t say I wasted time, money and effort though. I learned my lesson well. Before taking on any of those diet plans I will now consult my doctor or my nutritionist so I will know if I am about to make a fool of myself again.

There are so many articles in the internet that will tell you not to eat this and not to eat that to lose weight fast. There are articles too that will tell you to eat this and eat that to become lean and thin – this is one of those articles.

I’m talking about protein.

Protein is actually magical. It doesn’t only provide you abrupt and instant feeling of satiation or being full it also keeps doing that for longer intervals. Protein will also help stop your craving for sugar which is actually fantastic for me because I have this extreme sweet tooth. You see, protein will not only help in my endeavour to lose weight but will also keep me healthy.

Ever since I found out this fact about proteins (not that they don’t teach this in school, I might just forgotten), I have been reading a lot about it online. This is how I found out that to be very effective I shouldn’t just eat any type of protein, my diet should include only the highest quality of protein there is.

Turkey and chicken are two good examples of high quality protein, but of course, that’s after you get rid of the skin. These meats are low in fat and can be cooked any way I want it (uh, maybe except for fried) – roasted, broiled, grilled, sautéed; you name it!

Fishes like tuna, salmon, halibut mackerel, and more as well as shellfish like crab and lobster are good sources of high quality protein as well. Again, I can cook these any way, except frying.

Surprisingly, red meat is a good source of high quality protein too. But I should be very careful in choosing the part that is lean and contains lesser cholesterol. Round cut sounds ok, top sirloin and round flank are fine as well.

Well, there are lots of other foods where I can get high quality protein but I have to be careful not to overdo it. Maximum intake is 35% of my whole diet. I shouldn’t eat an all-protein diet alone. Hey! It’s not good to ignore those other delicious treats out there!

Smokers use many different products to help them through quitting their habit. However, more alternative methods have become popular as people look for new ways to help beat the withdrawal effects of smoking.

These methods include things like hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy attributes smoking to a problem with the mind and therefore looks at breaking down mental barriers.

The hypnotherapist will put the smoker into a deep trance and through a series of suggestive techniques; the aim is to break through the smoking wall so that the smoker is free from the constant feeling of needing a cigarette. One smoker said, “I really recommend hypnotherapy. I have been a smoker for over ten years and could never be strong enough to stop the habit. With the hypnotherapy sessions, which lasted the course of two months, I gradually began to feel like I
regained control of my health and my mind. Nicotine no longer ruled it.”

Other alternative methods include acupuncture. This is the process of unblocking energy points through the body, such as on the back or wrists, by using long, thin needles. The thought behind this is that smoking is a habit which is clogging up the smoker’s body, and should be freed so that the energy can flow once again. It sees smoking as an “illness” which can be cured by unclogging it.

One smoker who has tried this technique said, “Me and my husband tried this method. It worked for me but not for him. I think it really does depend on the individual. He went on to try nicotine replacement methods which worked a lot better for him, such as the electronic cigarette. The e cigarette meant that he was gradually weaning himself off of the nicotine and he found it a much easier process to endure. For me, acupuncture helped me to feel like smoking didn’t reign my body and it put me back in control. I think each and every smoker has their own battle.”

Smoking is bad for your health in many ways. If you have been a smoker for the majority of your life, it will take you even longer to recover or reverse the effects of the damage. However, it can be done.

Research has shown just 24 hours of not smoking can have an impact on your body. After a week, your lungs are already starting to clear from the tar that has built up in it over the years. After a month, smokers will see noticeably results (complexion clearer, hair cleaner, etc) and after a year, you are less likely to contract cancers or have heart issues because of the smoking.

This means that it is never too late to decide to quit smoking.

The most common side effect of smoking is cancer, particularly lung cancer but also throat, nose, mouth and liver cancer. 98% of all lung cancer sufferers have been smokers. This shows a direct correlation between smoking and illness.

Another major health concern with smoking is heart problems. The heart can struggle to cope under the pressure of the effects that smoking has had on the body. Many smokers have had stroke and heart attacks because of their excessive smoking.

Smokers who are trying to recover from their habit usually try and set out a smoking schedule that helps them to gently and sensibly withdraw from cigarettes.

Nicotine replacement methods might also be used to help throughout this process. Using products such as the electronic cigarette, or the e cigarette, is beneficial as it allows the smoker to withdraw from their nicotine cravings gradually.

Similarly, nicotine gums and patches are used to help smokers through the difficult withdrawal symptoms that can be endured.

Other smokers choose more alterative methods to help them through their quit smoking process. These are methods such as hypnotherapy and acupuncture, which are thought to help the body and mind heal itself from the habits of smoking.
